FIVE THINGS YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY TAKE GLAMPING WITH YOU

When thinking about a camping trip, it’s a little unusual to think about an extensive packing list, given that a large component of camping is leaving behind many of the luxuries of your day-to-day life you’re used to. Although it’s an awesome way to vacation or getaway for the weekend, there are definitely some things you need to get by without.

Glamping, on the other hand, gives you many of the perks of a camping trip in nature without sacrificing too much. While, like camping, you’re still spending time in the outdoors and most likely sleeping in a glamping tent, glamping is a more glamorous version of camping.

A major pro to glamping is that it doesn’t require much prior experience and can be a great way to spend a weekend for people of all activity levels or backgrounds. When spending time in a glamping tent, you’re likely to enjoy most of the comforts you have at home.

This could include furniture like a queen bed, cooking equipment or even hot water and access to a proper bathroom. For this reason, it’s worth thinking about what you’re going to be bringing along.

The first step in ensuring you have what you need for your glamping trip is reading into what your glamping resort offers if that’s the route you’re going down, or have a full understanding of the space of your own tent and how you can use it for a memorable glamping trip.

We can all relate to the feeling of forgetting something at home after leaving for a trip, so it’s worth figuring out what you need and writing it down in a checklist. That way, you’re probably going to be less stressed when heading out.

Here, we’ve put together a list of the five things we always try to bring along on our glamping trips, that we think you might find useful as well:

1. Meals, Snacks And Dessert

If you’re planning on setting up a stove inside your glamping tent, it’s a good idea to think about the food or meals you want to bring along that you can prepare over a camping stove.

All White Duck tents are equipped with a built-in stove jack, so setting up a stove usually isn’t a problem. If you’re investing in a wall tent, you can even get a canvas porch that extends your outdoor living space and can be a great area to set up your cooking equipment.

Chances are that if you’re not staying at a glamping resort, your glamping site isn’t going to be all that close to a grocery store. So, other than packing your favorite snacks and ingredients, you should also aim to make sure that you have the necessary cutlery, plates and cups to go with your meals. A cooler is also always a good idea; it keeps your food fresh for longer, and your drinks cool.

If your glamping trip is combined with some activities like hiking or long walks, meals become all the more important! And, of course, don’t forget about desserts, the easiest of which are probably roasting marshmallows around your campfire.

2. Trip-Appropriate Clothes

As with any other trip away from home, packing appropriate clothing items is the most essential thing that you need to do. The best strategy is to pack right and pack light, without going overboard with your choices even if you’re tempted to bring along your favorite jacket that you don’t quite need.

It’s important to pack according to the number of days and activities on your trip. Given the season and place you’re planning to set up your glamping tent, make sure you do your homework before heading off to the desired location as the local environment plays a vital role in changing your clothing preferences.

3. Entertainment Options

Are you planning your glamping trip to get away from the stresses of everyday life and achieve some, well, zen? If the answer to all these questions is yes, then it’s probably a good idea to bring along some things to help you unwind. Bring along that book you’ve been longing to read, your yoga mat for morning vinyasas and maybe some board games to play late into the night with family or friends.

Believe it or not, we’ve also seen some pretty admirable projector setups for movie nights on glamping trips. With little to no access to wifi, though, you should think about saving and downloading movies for your glamping experience.

4. Technology And Gadgets

A camera is almost a necessity when traveling nowadays, especially for a unique activity like glamping where you want to capture the special moments you share with loved ones. Part of having a camera is available is making sure it’s charged when you need it and other than your phone, here are some things we’ve found have been extremely useful when glamping:

  • Waterproof cases for your gadgets
  • Laptop
  • Wireless Speakers
  • Headphones
  • Portable chargers
  • Power bank

Final Considerations

Most of us are used to routines over the course of the day, which could be anything from showering first thing in the morning or an extensive skincare routine before getting into bed at night.

Although glamping is often a getaway from what we usually do, it’s different from camping in that you don’t have to give up your usual routines! When it comes to hygiene or health, here are some things that should get you through the glamping trip:

  • Shampoo
  • Body wash
  • Disinfectants
  • Mosquito and insect repellants
  • Moisturizer
  • Sunblock
  • Sanitizers

Another important thing to take along with you is a first-aid box because it’s always better to be one step ahead of unforeseen injuries. Some over-the-counter medicines and drugs like anti-allergy meds and pain-killers can be equally important.
